Hook Village Show 2018
Come and enjoy the fun at Hartletts Park in Hook. A FREE family fun day with lots of things to see and do.
Attractions include:
– Fire Engine – sit in the engine, chat to the fire fighters, try on the uniform.
– Police Car – meet your beat officer and PCSO, sit in the car and occasionally press the sirens and turn on the lights, crime prevention information available, dressing up kit for the children and colouring in.
– Dog Show – The Hart District Council Dog Warden will be running a dog show throughout the day in its own arena. Enter your dog on the day. Registration will be between 12 noon – 12:40pm. No registrations allowed past this time.
Dog Classes start at 12:45. £2 per dog.
The classes are:
Class 1 – Dog in the Best Condition
Class 2 – Best Crossbreed
Class 3 – Best under 16yr old handler and dog
Class 4 – Golden Oldie (best older dog over 7 years old)
Class 5 – Dog with the Waggiest Tail
Class 6 – Dog the Judges would like to take home
Class 7 – Best in Show (1st prize winners from other classes only)
The winners parade will be in the main arena at 16:15 where the Best in Show will be decided and awarded a trophy. They will also be selling dog tags for £4 each (exact change and cash only). The RSPCA and St Kitts Vets will be present at the Dog Arena to promote services and offer advice.
– Fairground – A selection of fairground rides supplied by Walls & Son Pleasure Rides including Bungee Bounce, Mega Slide, Bouncy Castle Play Centre as well as others
– Show Arena – Lots of exciting events and displays throughput the day including Cove Brass Band, Tug of War, Karen Blackburn Dance Academy, and the final of the Dog Show Winners.
– Classic Cars – There will be a large selection of 50+ classic cars on display.
– There will be a chainsaw carver on site demonstrating his skills and creating a piece of sculpture for Hook In Bloom.
– FREE Vegetable Hunt with a chance to win a Smart Phone and FREE Treasure Hunt with a chance to win £10. Please go to the Parish Council Stand to enter.
– Tug of War Contest – Enter a team of 4 people for the chance to win £100 cash. £5 entry per team. Prior registration required.
– Crockery Smashing Stall
– Food and Drink – There will be a variety of food and drink stalls available including a Beer Tent, Ice Cream Vans, Sweet Stalls and the HSPA Burger/Sausage BBQ stall
– Tea Room – Tesco are providing a “pop up ” Tea Room in the Community Centre throughout the day from 12 noon. They will be providing Cream Tea’s, Homemade Cakes, hot and cold drinks, Sausage Rolls and Pizza. All proceeds will be going to Hook in Bloom.
– Miniature Steam engine – Miniature Steam engine providing rides up and down the field
– Animals – There will be a number of animals for you to look at and in some cases, pet. These include Donkeys and Ferrets. There will also be Falconer. The birds will be out on perches to look at. However, they will not be flying at the event.
– There will also be the Food and Produce show on in the Community Centre between 2pm – 4pm with the prize giving for the winners at 4pm.
Radio Frimley Park are the resident DJ’s for the day and will compere the event.
Please note some activities will be chargeable.
There is no Public Parking available on site. There is limited parking for onsite for Blue Badge holders only. Parking is available at Crossways Car Park, RG27 9DT (opposite the White Hart Pub and Shell Petrol Station) in the centre of Hook or at Bartley Wood Business Park RG27 9UP
