The course is accredited by CPD UK (offering 3 hours CPD) and AMTRA (offering 14 points).

In a relaxed environment in groups of a maximum of 12 people you will learn how to deal with a wide variety of scenarios that can affect animals within your care. All courses are delivered by an experienced veterinary nurse with a certificate in emergency and critical care who brings personal experience and knowledge to the course which everyone can benefit from.

Over 4 hours the course covers:

Collapse and CPCR.
Wounds and Bleeding.
Heat Stroke.
Dog Fights.
Road Traffic Accidents
Bites and stings.
Electrocution and burns.

During the course you will learn how to safely transport an injured animal, what you can do to be prepared, how to perform CPCR, you will have an opportunity to practice applying bandages and how to recognise when something is wrong.

The sessions are usually a mixed bunch of people where all of us has something to contribute to discussions and we all are able to learn from each other.

Cost: £50 per person.

Companion Animal Talks

Speak to us for more information about the possibility to deliver a talk to your club or group about animal first aid or other animal or veterinary related subjects.

Hosting A First Aid Course

It is possible for you to organise your own first aid course and “Pet Owners First Aid” will come to deliver at a venue of your choice on a mutually agreeable date.  This is a fantastic way to raise money for charity or increase your business profile by improving client engagement.

How it works:

You invite delegates, provide the venue and refreshments for your course.

Delegates are invited by you and pay you directly at a fee that you feel is appropriate.

Pet Owners First Aid can help you advertise the event.

You will pay Pet Owners First Aid an agreed fee prior to the course.

Pet Owners First Aid will deliver the course and provide certificates of attendance for all delegates.

First Aid Kits

There are two different types of first aid kits available which have been put together specifically with the pet owner in mind.  The de-luxe kit has everything you may need to administer first aid.  The mini kit is designed for the dog walker to carry at all times enabling basic first aid to be given initially until they can get back to the de-luxe kit.

Microchip Implantation

£10 per implantation and immediate registration with the microchip database.

Memorial Hall, Finchampstead, UK

I am Meg, owner of Buttonlove Rottweilers.  I have had dogs in my life for some 50+ years and owned my own for over 35 of them.  I love dogs, they are my life and my passion.  My dogs are trained using positive methods, they are happy, they are loved.

I give information to owners to help them with the general care of their wards and teach foundation obedience and correct some behaviour.  All courses are structured and come with detailed comprehensive notes on all items covered in the course.

Training is open to all breeds.

At class we will take the time to understand what we are asking of the puppy; are we giving that information over to the puppy in a calm manner that is easily understood, etc?  The puppy is praised for a positive result. No rush, No stress, No punishment, a little correction (only if required, no punishment).
By educating you, I hope to help you with your puppy, learn the very basics of obedience, how to walk on a lead, how to complete a recall, how to go down, stay down, be handled, greet people etc. Also I will offer information about feeding, further education and so on, via third party internet sites or experienced contacts in the dog world.
In short, by educating and encouraging the owner, the puppy also becomes educated and therefore easier to train for all daily aspects of life.
Experienced and Insured.
