Beautiful portraits of man’s best friend created by Surrey pet photographer Jamie Morgan.
I grew up in the Heart of the Kent countryside in a beautiful village called Biddenden. Both my Great Grandparents and Grandparents owned farms in the village and I was lucky enough to spend most of my childhood outdoors with our Whippet Cross called Charlie.
There is an enviable bond between man and dog. It is one relationship however where you soon start to realise that you will outlive your closest friend and there will be a time when they are not by your side anymore.
In adult life I appreciate the bond between man and dog more than ever and love getting to know dogs and their owners, capturing the characters and bonds between them.
Looking back now there are a few tatty photos in my Mum’s album of Charlie, who lived until from when I was in nappies until I was 19. Like most people I look back wishing I had better photos of the friend I loved so much.
In June 2016, I was really proud to win Kennel Club Dog Photographer of the Year for my portrait work – over 13,000 people entered from 90 countries around the globe. I have also enjoyed a number of other awards within the photography industry this year.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work and we can share a walk or a run in the park together soon and create a picture of your friend for you to treasure.
Jamie has a natural way with dogs, and you can tell he is passionate about what he does. He captured brilliant, natural images of my very energetic, 1 year old German Wirehaired Pointer. Not to mention, he has the patience of a saint when my dog constantly kept leaping into the river. Thank you!
