What’s great about Whitmoor Common?

Whitmoor Common, who would have thought that Guildford would be home to a Site of Special Scientific Interest? This 410 acre site around Worplesdon is a beautiful lowland heath with meadows and woodland.

As you enjoy the walk, we’ll come across areas of still and running water. There are two ponds and a number of streams running throught the site.

Woodlands extend across the Common, filled with a mix of birch, scots pine and oaks.

This provides a really varied venue for dog photography with a beautiful mix of backgrounds.

Where is Whitmoor Common?

Just 10 minutes from Guildford, Surrey and 25 minutes from Camberley, Whitmoor Common is a stunning location between Worplesdon and Jacobs Well.

Both car parks are along Salt Box Road.

There are two car parks, Saltbox Road car park and Britten’s Pond car park..

There’s a mobile coffee shop often located at Whitmoor Common car park.

No toilet facilites are at this location.

What to expect..

After you’ve selected your gift experience or session, we will be in touch to get some information about your dog, your home and the style of pictures you would love on the walls.
You will then receive an information pack to help you get the best from the session. If your dog is a breed that needs grooming, it’s best to do this a few days in advance and give the coat time to settle with just a tidy or brush the day of the shoot.
On the day, we’ll meet at the car park. You will want to bring your dogs favourite toy, or special treats, we will also have a bag of goodies to keep them motivated.

5. We will enjoy a relaxed and fun dog walk at a pace that suits your dog. Ensure you wear some sturdy shoes or boots, depending on how far we walk and the weather, we could be out for upto 2 hours.

6. We will start with some traditional sat portraits, then play some games, chase a ball or frisbee, then as we come toward the end of the session we’ll finish with a few more of those signature portraits.

7. You will be invited back to the Studio, normally within 2 weeks of your session to view your images, see samples of our handmade products and place your order.

Facts about Whitmoor Common

Whitmoor Common is a site of national importance!

It’s home to a rare breed of spider, a scarce beetle and two plants which only occur in Surrey.
You could also be lucky enough to see the nightjar here, as it’s a great habitat for it to breed.
